Tulloch Reservoir Update – September 14, 2015

Tri-Dam has just received the following updated information from the US Bureau of Reclamation (Bureau).  It is important to note again that the Bureau has decided that this year’s drawdown schedule will be prepared in weekly increments, as they continue to monitor temperatures along the river system.  Tri-Dam will continue to send out these schedules immediately upon receipt.  In the event that conditions along the river system allow the Bureau to produce a longer length schedule, Tri-Dam will send that out immediately as well.  Continue to check our website at www.tridamproject.com

The drawdown schedule for Tulloch Reservoir is shown below for September 15-23, 2015 .   This schedule complies with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers flood control requirements.  The reservoir will generally be managed to the target elevation ranges, but some variation may occur due to large natural inflows or facility and operational constraints.  As always, please exercise care when operating in and around the reservoir.

Tulloch Reservoir Update for August 28, 2015

While Tri-Dam continues to await the fall/winter draw down schedule from the Bureau of Reclamation (Bureau), the Bureau has just today opened the low level outlet at New Melones. They are slowly opening the outlet to the required level. The release of water will be balanced with releases from Tulloch, while continuing to monitor temperatures downstream from Tulloch. Given the weather forecast and late opening of the low-level outlet no changes at Tulloch are expected during the coming week. There is no anticipated change in water levels at Tulloch during this time period. Given this information, Tri-Dam continues to be optimistic that daily average normal operating levels at Tulloch (506.5’ – 509.5’) could be maintained through September 7, 2015. Please continue to watch this website for the actual schedule, which will be posted here immediately upon it’s receipt from the Bureau.

Tulloch Reservoir Update for August 20, 2015

Tri-Dam continues to await the fall/winter draw down schedule from the Bureau of Reclamation (Bureau). During teleconferences this week, the Bureau advises that they have delayed preparation of the actual schedule due to the need to monitor temperatures along the river system below Tulloch. The Bureau does expect to open the low level valve at New Melones no later than Wednesday, August 26, 2015, and release water into Tulloch while monitoring temperatures. This water would be balanced with releases from Tulloch such that there is no anticipated change in water levels at Tulloch during this time period. Given this information, Tri-Dam is optimistic that daily average normal operating levels at Tulloch (506.5’ – 509.5’) could be maintained through September 7, 2015. Please continue to watch this website for the actual schedule, which will be posted here immediately upon it’s receipt from the Bureau.

Tulloch Reservoir Update for August 14, 2015

Today’s notice is an update to Advisory Letter of last week, sent by email and regular mail. Tri-Dam is still awaiting the actual reservoir drawdown schedule from the Bureau of Reclamation (Bureau). As of today, we are not able to state with any degree of certainty when the drawdown will take place. The advisory notice was sent as a precautionary measure, in the event that the drawdown needs to begin early to try to regulate temperatures within the river, as noted in last week’s Advisory.

We are aware that the Bureau is working hard to get the schedule out, and as soon as we receive it we will get it out to everyone on the distribution list and post it on this website. Please continue to check this site for updates.
