April 7, 2015 Update
Update for the Week Ending April 3, 2015
The water situation continues to be very challenging. As has been publicized throughout the State, the April snow survey results demonstrate the dire situation throughout the region. Governor Brown has now directed mandatory restrictions to be applied throughout the entire state, to target additional water use reductions.
Last week, OID and SSJID announced that a preliminary agreement had been reached with the Bureau of Reclamation and National Marine Fisheries Service on a Temporary Urgency Change Petition (TUCP). The TUCP must be approved by the California State Water Resources Board, and as of today, that approval has not yet been received. The Districts remain hopeful that an agreement can be reached, allowing the prudent use of reservoir waters for people and agricultural uses, while balancing the fisheries releases The posted reservoir schedule remains in effect, at present, and updates will be posted should the schedule be revised. Please continue to watch for updates.
