Banding Locations and Access Requirements

*Please Note:  All vessel launching on Tulloch Reservoir must occur exclusively through designated launch sites authorized under the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Prevention Program.

In alignment with Tri-Dam's AIS protocols, launching from private properties or any unauthorized locations is strictly prohibited.

To maintain program integrity and ensure compliance:

  • All boats must launch from an approved, designated launch site.
  • All vessels must be inspected, banded, and authorized by entities formally approved by Tri-Dam prior to launching.
  • All vessels must be entered and verified in the Watercraft Inspection and Decontamination (WID) system before launching on Tulloch Reservoir.
  • Approved locations are listed below.

To ensure your vessel is properly recorded and eligible for launch:

  • Boaters should request a digital or text receipt for their vessel inspection to confirm entry into the WID system.
  • This verification is required to maintain program records and protect the reservoir.

The following locations are approved by Tri-Dam:

  • Drifter’s Marina (contact directly for opening day and launch availability)
  • Black Jack Bluff HOA
  • Calypso Bay HOA
  • Conner Estates HOA
  • Copper Cove HOA
  • Lake Tulloch Shores / Poker Flat HOA
  • Peninsula Estates HOA (approved for banding but no launch location)

NEW MELONES – DECONTAMINATION RECIPROCITY:
Boaters may take their vessel to New Melones, receive an approved decontamination, and then proceed to Tulloch Reservoir for same-day entry.  A valid decontamination from New Melones will be honored at Tulloch.

This is a one-way agreement and applies to decontamination only. A 30-day quarantine band or re-entry band from New Melones does not qualify for entry at Tulloch.

If you have questions regarding the South Shore Campground, please contact Tuolumne County directly, as they are responsible for managing public access to that area.

Thank you for helping protect Tulloch Reservoir from aquatic invasive species.
